Hyde Park Lodge is proud to support and promote the Appendant Bodies of our beloved Craft. We recognize these organizations as essential extensions of the Masonic journey; offering deeper engagement, further opportunities for service, and meaningful fellowship beyond the Blue Lodge. By standing with them, we affirm our commitment to the unity and enrichment of the greater Masonic family.
The Scottish Rite is one of the most well-known and respected Appendant Bodies in Freemasonry, offering a deeper exploration of Masonic philosophy, symbolism, and moral teachings through its expanded degree system—from the 4° to the 32°. Its origins trace back to 18th-century France and eventually took root in the United States in the early 1800s, where it grew into a powerful force for Masonic education, charitable outreach, and personal development. The Scottish Rite is also widely known for its commitment to childhood language and learning centers, scholarship programs, and leadership development for Masons seeking to further their understanding and service. It provides a profound continuation of the lessons begun in the Blue Lodge, enriching the path of any dedicated Brother.
The York Rite is a distinguished branch of Freemasonry that preserves some of the oldest and most revered Masonic traditions. Rooted in the early foundations of Craft Masonry, the York Rite continues the journey begun in the Blue Lodge by offering three distinct bodies: the Royal Arch Chapter, the Cryptic Council, and the Commandery of Knights Templar. Together, these degrees reveal the Lost Word of Masonry, explore the preservation of ancient knowledge, and culminate in a chivalric Christian order dedicated to faith, service, and brotherhood. The York Rite offers deep spiritual insight, historical context, and meaningful opportunities for leadership and charity. It invites every Master Mason to experience the completion of their Masonic story.
Shriners International is one of the most recognized and impactful Masonic organizations in the world. Founded in 1872, the Shriners combine Masonic values with fun, fellowship, and a powerful philanthropic mission. Known for their distinctive red fezzes and vibrant community presence, Shriners are united by a commitment to brotherhood and service—especially through their world-renowned Shriners Children’s hospitals, which provide life-changing care to children regardless of their families’ ability to pay. Membership in the Shrine offers Master Masons the opportunity to be part of something joyful and deeply meaningful, where laughter, leadership, and charity go hand in hand.
